Peskov: Russia, China leaders likely to launch Sila Sibiri Dec 2
MOSCOW, Nov 25 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping will probably participate in a video conference to launch the Sila Sibiri gas pipeline on December 2, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday.
“Maybe. (The video conference) will probably take place on December 2,” he said.
Peskov earlier said that Putin and Xi would launch gas deliveries to China through the Sila Sibiri pipeline using a video conference.
Gazprom and China’s CNPC signed a contract on supplies via the Sila Sibiri pipeline, or the eastern route, in 2014. Gazprom plans to provide China with 38 billion cubic meters of gas per year over 30 years through the pipeline. The company will start supplies via the pipeline with 5 billion cubic meters, and the facility will reach its full capacity in several years.
